Isn't this a wonderful gift from the music gods. This song has a wonderful marriage between the melodic new age and old school revamp of Kanye West 808's. The two enter a strange area of the hot and cold relationship.
Who has ever been in a relationship where you feel as if your spouse may have mixed personalities? One day they are happy they love you to death and then the next day they hate you and wish they never met you? What about being in the relationship with the person that claimed that wanted you to treat them one way but when you do they are apprehensive? What about that relationship where your lover blocks you on all social media? They are not answering any of your calls and trying to completely disconnect from you? If you have ever experienced any of that in a relationship then this is the song for you. What a surprise we as hip-hop fans to hear from Kanye West! How fitting is it to give us a song about mental health? I do not know about you guys but I know all too well what this kind of love feels like. That crazy love that makes you go crazy with it because it means that much and you just have to have it! If you are a hopeless romantic and you are willing to go bipolar for your love then this is the song for you! Pick up the new album from YMF Melly We All Shine Out Now

The song "Cocaine" is featured on Royce Da 5'9 album "The Book Of Ryan" That was released May 4th 2018 on Royce's own label Heaven Studios and eOne Music.
Some know him for his work with Eminem and some know him from his work with Slaughter house, no matter how you resonate with Royce Da 5'9 you would never know that he had the ability to sing a whole song that is the first part that catches you off guard about this song. Second stand out factor of this song is the content and subject matter. For a lot of African American's their are issues with Mental health and most of them come from a history of drug and alcohol abuse in the home. This song is all about a young child discovering his father had an addiction to cocaine and the challenges it caused on his family. He then talks about how his father got help for the sake of him and his family and how appreciative as a son he was because of it. He also poses the question to the listener would he have had issues with alcohol and the law had he not inherited all of the pain from his fathers drug use. This song to me was so important for 2018 because in 2018 it almost felt like every new artist was abusing so many drugs including cocaine. To hear an artist talk so profoundly on what cocaine has done to him and his family in the era where being a drug addict seems to be cool in short a lot of the youth can benefit from hearing about the negatives of drug use and the generational damage it can cause. The video perfectly tells the story and actually makes you get into the song a little deeper. I hope you guys get what I got out of this song and share it with a friend. 1.
